This is not your typical grassroots campaign for collecting signatures. You should absolutely continue supporting those other campaigns as well, but this is different.
This is a mechanism in the EU by which such a campaign, called an ECI [1], can set the agenda for the European Commission to formally debate a Regulation [2] or Directive [3].
As if we, the people who sign the campaign, are in the same position as the European Parliament to directly initiate this process.
In just two months the campaign has collected more that half (558k) of its target number of signatures (1M). We are in a good position to achieve the goal in one year. But I think we should smash the goal and reach 10M to send a strong message.
